Motivation is garbage?
As I write this, I just received an email from someone recommending to take action to build a business now, and stop waiting until you “feel” like doing it.
He says,
Motivation is garbage.
You’re never going to ‘feel’ like jumping out of bed at 5am.
You’re never going to ‘feel’ like speaking up at a meeting.
Stop waiting until you ‘feel’ like it.
It ain’t gonna happen.
That’s not how our brain works.”
While I agree with his main point–that sometimes we have to take action whether or not we are in the mood–I strongly disagree that we will never feel that type of motivation.
Remember when you were a kid, and the excitement you felt on Christmas morning.
You’ll know what it’s like to wake up and instantly be ready to jump out of bed and get started with the day.
Or maybe it’s the first day of summer vacation.
Or maybe you’ve got a hot date.
Or maybe you’ve got an appointment with someone who is going to give you a BIG check.
When you have a reason to be excited, waking up and jumping out of bed IS your natural state.
Many people who go through a near-death experience tend to see every day as a gift, and find a new lease on life because of it.
But what about the rest of us?
Is there anything we can do to feel that kind of motivation every day of our lives, as if every day were Christmas morning?
Yes, there is.
When I was a kid, one of my aunts gave me a book that started me on the path to discovering the secrets of success.
The book was “The Greatest Salesman in the World” by Og Mandino.
It’s still in print, and I highly recommend you get a copy and read it.
Study it. Live it. Master its principles.
In that book is a story about a young boy who was given a set of mysterious scrolls which provided him the core principles behind all success.
The first scroll teaches him how to learn the secrets of the other nine, which is to read each one three times a day for 30 days so the information can seep down into his subconscious mind.
The fifth scroll teaches us to live each day as if it were our last, cherishing every moment because in truth, each moment is unique and will be lost forever if we miss it.
When you get this message into your subconscious, waking up each day with enthusiasm to savor each and every moment is no longer a chore, but a natural part of who you are.
And this is why I disagree with anyone who says that you’ll never feel like doing the things that lead to wealth and success.
It’s just a matter of getting the right messages lodged into your subconscious.
Of course, developing the skills necessary to handle whatever may come up also helps.
Which is why the new Symbolic Solutions 2.0 program is so useful.
It trains you to connect fully with your subconscious, effectively communicate what you want in symbolic form (its natural language), and trust the guidance that comes from within.
This system also trains you to develop the skills of speed learning and easy recall, focusing your power to follow through on your decisions until success, and true leadership so getting others to help you is an effortless task.
With the skills you develop through this system, getting whatever you want in life becomes the normal experience of life.
When you have these skills, every day really can be like Christmas.
