Taking my business in a new direction

Over the past few weeks, I've been working on a set of plans designed to help a greater number of people realize the power of belief.  The central focus for these plans has been a 30-day event in which people may challenge the Law of Attraction to prove itself workable.

$1000 Blessing

As I wrote my last entry, the Universe was bestowing a blessing on me that was worth about $1000 to me.  This is another example of how quickly you can see results when you change what you believe.

To tell you the story, I need to go back about 25 years.

This past weekend was an eye-opener for me

This past weekend was an eye-opener for me.

I spent some time reading a couple of books, which I do quite often.  This weekend, I read T. Harv Eker's "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" and Bob Doyle's "Wealth Beyond Reason".

I know, both of these have been out for years.  I find that going back over older material from time to time helps me get a fresh perspective on the author's material.  I've read some books dozens of times.

Old Poems

Recently, one of my subscribers asked me if I publish poetry, and submitted a sample for consideration.  I responded as honestly as I could, and wrote back to say that poetry is typically a very difficult thing to sell unless the author is well-known.

In the process, I pulled out a few of the poems I've written over the years.  I never considered them great, but I always felt there was potential within them.  Perhaps now is the time to post them and see what people think.

Feel free to post whatever comments you wish -- good, bad, indifferent.

Addressing Problems with "The Secret"

I ran into a blog post earlier today where someone was talking about how he does not accept the premises brought up in "The Secret" and why The Law of Attraction cannot be a 'real' law of the universe.

I wrote the following as a comment to his blog, and before I clicked the 'Post' button, I copied my response knowing that I could also post it here as well.

The great thing about this response is that it addresses some of the problems many people have with "The Secret" and the Law of Attraction.

Do your beliefs and plans align?

This coming weekend is one of many holidays around the world. Here in the US, we celebrate our status as an independent nation where we can choose for ourselves how we will be governed.

And this is one reason I selected July 5th as the "official" publication date for my new book, Choose To Believe.

The powerful information in this book allows ANYONE to choose for themselves how their lives will be governed.

Researching Affiliate Software

This is another post about the technical side of running a web-based business.  In this case, I spent some time researching current options for affiliate software.

For those who don't know what affiliate software is for, here's the key idea.  The word "affiliate" means "working partner".  While that COULD mean just about anything, on the Internet, it means someone who promotes a product for a commission.  In other words, a commissioned sales rep.

Searching for the perfect mailing list manager

Over the past 24 hours or so, I've gotten caught up in doing some research for the technical side of my web business.  While I expect that few of my reader really care about this, I felt that for the few who are, posting my findings would be a good thing.

Bonus CD ready to ship

When I wrote Choose To Believe, I knew that I wanted to do something special for my readers.  It turned out that I created an offer to get my previous 5 products on a CD-ROM for nothing more than basic S/H fees.  In the rush to get the book "out there", the creation of the bonus CD was scheduled for a later time.

Choose To Believe is available on Amazon

In an author's career, there are certain events that mark significant stages of the journey.  Completing your first manuscript, seeing a final cover design, holding a final copy of your book, and seeing it for sale in an established retail channel.

In days past, the established retail channel used to be just bookstores, but these days it includes big name websites too.  While my work has sold fairly well from my own websites these past few years, there's something different about having it available from one of the biggest bookstores in the world.
