Anyone who wants or needs to release stress or anxiety, or just wants to learn to relax more will find that hypnotic processes can be the quickest and most long-lasting solutions available.
Most hypnotists tend to use a handful of simple induction methods, with progressive muscle relaxation and basic countdowns being the more popular ones.
The Silva Method (a hugely popular course) focuses on using a basic countdown.
Other common methods include shock and confusion (popular with the “instant induction” crowd), guided visualization, and a rather lengthy discussion on the automatic nature of the subconscious mind.
This last one tends to be associated with Milton Erickson, one of the most famous hypnotists of all time, and the model for modern hypnosis.
Less popular, but still effective, are the covert, conversational hypnosis techniques of redirecting attention to non-physical topics, which also tends to make a person more suggestible.
While all these do work, I’ve found a better way.
In the last week, I’ve searched through about 20 different books on hypnotism, and haven’t found any one directly mention the relaxation process that works best.
So, what is this most effective technique to induce relaxation and hypnosis?
Indulging in a powerfully-enjoyable memory.
For me, one of the quickest ways to get to a light hypnotic trance state is to allow myself to get lost in a memory of a passionate hug.
This is why I wrote in “Harmonic Prayer” that I often prepare myself for prayer by imagining myself giving God a great big hug.
Prayer, creative visualization, hypnosis — they’re all based on the same process.
- Relax deeply.
- Imagine what you want.
- Trust that it will happen.
This is the same 3-step process I’ve been talking about for quite a while.
It’s the core process behind Harmonic Prayer, Symbolic Solutions, and the Awaken the Avatar Within program.
It’s the same core process behind the Silva Method and any other system that actually gets results.
I recently created a few new recordings for the Symbolic Solutions package, which feature a segment guiding you to focus on an intensely enjoyable experience.
I’ll be adding them to the package soon.
However, I’m also working on a few other things, and hope to have something really nice to announce next week.
As mentioned previously, anyone who purchases the Symbolic Solutions package gets a full year of updates, so you’ll get all the new materials as I add them.
If you’d rather invest in a “tried and true” system, there’s always the Silva Method, which was originally developed in the 60’s and 70’s.
It’s as fully developed as it’s going to get.
